Irina Fennessy is a classically trained professional piano instructor who received her complete music education in Russia and Ukraine, renown for its quality and distinctive musical philosophy .
Irina received her B.A. in Piano Pedagogy, Piano Performance, Chamber Ensemble, and Accompaniment. She has been sharing her passion for teaching and her love of music for over 17 years.
Irina teaches all styles : Baroque, Classical, Romantic and Contemporary, including Jazz and Blues
She Incorporates knowledge of music theory, music literature, sight-reading, ear training, and musical expression as important elements of her instructions. She is teaching on a excellent quality grand piano in a safe, positive, effective learning environment. She gives the opportunity to gain stage experience by encouraging her students to regularly perform in recitals , music festivals, as it builds their self confidence and stage presence, which is essential for their overall development as well rounded performers.
Mrs. Fennessy has maintained her Aliso Viejo studio since 2004. Her Piano Studio offers individual piano lessons to students of all ages and abilities. The studio's mission is to instill in students a lifelong interest in music by providing support and encouragement in their learning. With over 17 years of teaching experience, Irina shares her enthusiasm and her passion of the instrument as well as her love for music with each student. Private lessons offers individualized attention and are tailored to the pace and interest of each student. She is fluent at both- Do Re Mi and ABC note systems during her lessons, and proficient at teaching all levels, beginners through advanced . Her students have received numerous awards on Competitions and Music Festivals, some have gone on to win scholarships and place in honor orchestras, selected to perform at State Piano Conventions, and Branch Honor Recitals. Some were accepted at a University of Music choosing Music as their Major.
Irina frequently performs at local community events and continues her professional development by attending the various piano pedagogy workshops on National and California state music conferences. She has also been a Faculty Member at "Life Time Music Academy" in Aliso Viejo 2004-2005 , where she conducted private and group classes.
Mrs. Irina is a member of Music teacher association of California and offers Certificate of Merit training, which is designed to encourage students to strive for musical excellence and provides a comprehensive plan to develop performance skills, technique, sight reading skills and understanding of music theory.
Irina provides her students with fantastic performance opportunities. She conducts her studio piano recitals twice a year on stages of City Halls, local Churches and Senior Citizens homes as part of community service, as well as more competitive events such as Baroque Festival, Bach Festivals, Contemporary Music Festivals that are organized by MTAC. Participation in these events are by no means required, but it is highly recommended. Students and parents derive a great sense of accomplishment from preparing and performing for it.
